Major Arcana The Fool visits us for the week of August 29, 2021. Major Arcana cards indicate a strong, universal energy that permeates the consciousness, and The Fool is the very first card of the Majors. Interestingly, The Fool is numbered 0, not 1, symbolizing the vacant expanse, the empty vessel that awaits content, the desire and willingness to be filled. The number 0, and The Fool, can be likened to the beginner's mind, a concept that comes from Zen Buddhism. This mindset encourages us to approach all things in life with an open mind, ready to learn whatever lessons are coming. The Fool, poised on the precipice of the cliff, reminds us to look up as we step into the unknown -- to raise our eyes to the Higher Power that leads us in all ways to our best lives. The Fool tells us that we don't always need to know exactly where we are going. If we can open our minds and hearts to the Higher Wisdom available to us, we can move forward in faith and trust, knowing that we are exactly where we need to be. The Fool stresses that every day is a new beginning, a new chance to make our dreams come true. Can we embrace this approach to make our lives easier and happier? This is our challenge this week.
